Lessons in Grace - Sanctified

Salvation from Death:
Ephesians 2:8,9 – For by grace you have been saved and not of yourselves, that no one should boast.
Justification – A guaranteed inheritance is witnessed to and sealed by the Holy Spirit.
Salvation from Sin:
Salvation from the old nature
Salvation from daily, habitual sins
This salvation is very different than salvation from death: (True / False)
ü Salvation from death requires faith alone in Christ. (TRUE)
ü Salvation from sin requires a combination of faith in Christ, self discipline, and determination. (BOTH)
ü Salvation from death is absent of works. (Works do nothing to gain salvation from death.) (TRUE)
ü Salvation from sin is solely based on works. (FALSE)
James 2:22b – … as a result of the works, faith was perfected.
Philippians 2:12 – … work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
Facts of Life:
ü We are no longer slaves to sin. We are not bound to a life of sin. (TRUE)
ü Any blessings that we can expect to receive from God during our lives on Earth are directly dependent on the morality and/or discipline with which we live. (FALSE)
ü The Bible is full of exhortations to godly living. The result of this godly living is that God will bless you. (FALSE)

That’s not what my Bible teaches. What do you think?
Assignment – Be able to explain why what was said above is false. What is the truth?
